Extra value in early F0 frame ?
« on: November 23, 2014, 05:03:38 AM »
Question for the F guys. Recently passed on a pile of misc parts but one item was kind of interesting. I see the 1975 750F frames started at #1000002 and he had a titled frame number #1000107 which I assume would make it the 105th off the line probably assembled in the first couple days of that model production. Too bad the bike was not complete.  I personally think it has a neat or cool factor but do not think it really has a monetary impact, still just basically an F frame. If it was super low number maybe. What do you all think ?  Eric

I think to a collector it would have value.  It also has value in that mag wheels can be adapted to fit fairly easily.

You should probably go back and pick up that frame. :D  The F bikes will come up someday, especially the F0 and F1.  Look for some of the F only stuff in the pile too, like the headlight bracket, plastic junction box, dash, etc etc.

Just an F'er trying to help other F'ers :) :D

Gas tank had patched holes, headlight bucket had a switch drilled through and mounted, engines cases had chain damage hole, front caliper had large bolt where bleeder should be, no exhaust, etc etc. Stuff was rough. I have bought 2 other partial 750F part outs this summer so not hurting to bad for more stuff and not really wanting more junk. Frame was interesting though.

Yeah, the engine was torn apart and there  but the cases were toast.

I doubt it will have any more value than just a frame. If so it will be a LONG way off. While our F's were the first attempt at upgrading the 750 and were a performance improvement they will never hold the relevance or desirability of the 69/70 K. IF you could even find NOS parts like the body stuff it will cost a fortune to restore one. I know  ;D  If the guts from the engine are still good ie the pistons, head, tranny then they would make better replacement parts for the K's.

I have #1606 and bought it the first week of April when they first came out just when they were hitting the showroom floor.

Curious where it is? I bought mine from the then claimed World's Largest Honda Dealer, Pug Vickers, in Huntingdon in western TN. They had just started assembling them when I showed up with 18 Benjamin C notes
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Thanks Jerry, pretty much what I was thinking, its just another F frame. Too bad the bike ended with the wrong people on it journey but a lot have died along the way over the years.

As much as we'd like too, we just can't save them all.
