Hi Springer, I have done the whole '76 550k parts onto '76 f frame thing, and there are a couple tricks to the swap.  If you get stuck on something, just ask.
If it works good, it looks good...

if I can remember where all the old brackets and nuts and bolts. and still have the engine to clean and paint plus put back together then I'll be ready

I know this subject has been addressed before on the forum but I'm having a hard time finding anything on it when I do the shocks cost $500 so what's the best inexpensive shock for me jim

well right now I don't have any shocks that all so I'm going to see if I can find some CB 650 shocks use those for the time being to put bike back together and if I can ride I'll buy some good shocks Jim

well wish I would have had to engine completely tore down could have done a lot better job I wish I could have painted the cylinder cylinder head black but it is what it is and its the best I can do now all I have to do is sell some parts for some more stuff I need like the 75 headlight ears boots and lowers I got but I have to get the lowers all polished up Jim

Well starting to roll on assembly motor shock swingarm trying to get things done Jim


still have to do Polish valve caps
install Triple Tree
Put Forks back together and install
Get new tires and put on new rims

Personally, I think the black paint on the engine is overdone with so many people doing it.  The way you did it shows the original beauty of the bike.  You're doing an incredible job, Jim. Very nice work indeed.

I'm thinking about taking and painting all the exhaust flanges satin black just offset the engine a little bit think that would look okay Jim

I pulled a hamstring in my left leg which is my good leg so now I can hardly walk so not going to slow down againeverytime I get going good I do something to hurt myself can't wait till I ride the bike and fall off of a break my other leg Yahoo Jim

Hang in there Jim. Ice for the first 24-48 hrs the heat to loosen up the muscle and stretch.
