You knew I was working on it tonight....

:)

With that being said, I rode her down the street! Work at 6am so I'm reserving this spot for my correct geometry post.

UPDATE:

In regards to geometry; the ground was measured to ensure it was flat. A magnetic angle gauge was used to measure neck angle, then fork length was measured, triple offset was measured and also front tire diameter resulting in 3.93 trail. Pretty darn close considering stock is 4.1 =) This (as suspected) will make the turn in more "nimble" hence why a damper was suggested. Math doesn't lie.

I also got the chance to ride this thing, finally! Everything charges as well but still has some areas that need buttoning up. One more solid days worth and she will be ready to go on the road!

Does anyone else on here run a Cognito Moto triple?

Reason I ask; there is no room in the stem length to fit a dust cover on the top bearing. I installed a factory dust cover but then there are not enough threads to spin on the top triple main nut. It currently works how it should but I still rather have some sort of cover protecting my bearings even though its a pretty snug clearance under the top triple.

I back bored my custom top tree so there was a very small gap and it was able to go down over the steering neck instead of using a dust seal. I suppose stuff can still sneak in there but I don't ride on a lot of dirt roads.

We all knew it was coming. I just punched the ticket.  You've been nominated for BOTM.  Assuming it is seconded, we will have a nice battle of the cafes (including the Upstate NY guys) for September 2016 BOTM.

Thanks for the nomination Don, means a lot.

Can I still run for BOTM if my emblems aren't painted? I've been stuck on this dilemma for a bit of time now.

Bump...

Some teaser pictures for now:

Got mostly everything done....have to order some new jets to swap in and also paint my tank emblems once I decide on what color to do. Pretty stoked though!

Bump.

On Thursday I finished up tinkering with a few things and prepared for my first real "shake down" run.... so the following day a few of us packed up and headed up to Toronto for Mods N' Rockers. We got stuck in heavy traffic at the border so we pushed the bikes from US soil over to CA, it was also hot as balls out. For being a fresh build, I can't complain considering I made it there and back without a hiccup! Not a single break down! :) Of course there are things that need to be done still like; balance my tires, change my oil and install tank emblems. The show was great, had the pleasure of networking with some really awesome people. On top of that, I won a trophy for Best Custom Cycle of the show! Not bad considering there were 200-300 bikes there and a handful of trophies.

Few quick pictures:

@Sinister902 had a good time Friday:

Couple pictures Nick took at the end of the event:

You needed a little make up to take away that sweat shine! ;)

I wanted to like that 650 but the extended length of the swingarm ruined it for me.

The sweat.....oof, let me tell you - it was rough out there lol.

I completely agree. The single sided swing arm was neat to see on these bikes though. Granted you're used to massive meets but, I've never seen such a big meet, with the exception of DGR Rochester last year. Toronto really has an awesome motorcycle "scene".

I signed up for the Niagara Falls ride.  It all depends if my kids have soccer games that day.  It is a shame there aren't more vintage bike events in this area.  All I ever see are Harleys and sportbikes.  Maybe I will switch to the Rochester ride it seems a lot bigger than the Niagara Falls ride.

I agree! Rochester had far more people over NF last year. Going to Toronto is really a tease with how awesome they have it in regards to vintage motorcycles as well as lifestyle. Let me know if you sign up for Rochester, we can ride up together if you'd like.
