MC Cycle vs Cruzinimage rings
« on: February 17, 2015, 04:00:06 PM »
I got a set of MC Cycle rings from the US about 4 years ago for my 750K0 (I think Hondaman said they were OK at the time) They have the one piece oil control ring. A member on the UK site who has built lots (a significant number professionally ) of 750 engines reckons they will burn alot of oil and that I should get the ones sold by Cruzinimage in Japan instead, which have the 3-piece oil rings.

Any thoughts please?

"A lot' is objective. 'More' might be more correct.

Ash, I am not sure what year Honda switched to the 3 piece oil rings but for the first several years, they used 1 piece oil rings without excessive oil consumption. IMHO. I would not hesitate to use the 1 piece rings. Keith

Hi .. I am about to rebuild my engine .. any more thoughts on this. From the last comment, seems I should be OK with the MC rings. I seem to remember Hondaman telling me not to fit the funny shaped ring/spring that I think goes with the single oil control ring on the MC kits. The bike is a 10/69 CB750K0

Thanks for you help guys ... Ash(UK)
