wiring does my head in
« on: February 20, 2015, 10:17:08 PM »
Had a mate over today re wiring the whole bike.
I've been working on this thing on & off now for too long.
I had a crack at the wiring myself but it looked bad and was taking too long (never going to get done).
Ditched the harness and started from scratch.
Going to put the battery, solenoid, regulator etc. behind the seat and leave the triangle a bit cleaner.
Never know, this might be the year the Rickman hits the road

Have a good one

If you remove that big block of wood, you'll have room for your battery there!  :P

LOL, sorry couldn't resist.

I don't think I've ever seen the headlight setup with those vertical chrome pieces on it.  Where'd you get those?  They're pretty cool looking.

Also what are you going to mount on them or what are they for?

Did anyone else look at this thread because they wondered how a wiring problem caused damage to valves or the camshaft?

The extra bits on the headlamp bracket are to support a fairing.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I read this twice until my slow brain picked up what you were saying.
Now I see. Made me laugh.

The first one was made out of paper, I thought wood may be stronger.
Good idea about a battery though, it will save me kick starting it.

It's a Rickman frame and I am trying and succeeding to do the slowest resto ever on it.
