Spokes for 1978 CB750k rear wheel
« on: March 04, 2015, 05:17:55 AM »
My spokes are OK but as nice I'd like them to be.  I see some Evil Bay (item number 171704747068 ) for $28 plus shipping from Taiwan for another $13.00.  The seller notes the these spokes are 8 gauge straight and not single butted like the originals.  Has anybody tried these spokes? And does the larger butted portion of the original spokes add any strength the stainless one might be lacking?  Eight gauge is about .128" inches which is what the stock spokes measure on the narrow section.  I would think that just like a chain the spoke is only as strong as it's narrowest section.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

Bill,
Just as a reminder in case you didn't know: the spokes are still available from Honda. Perhaps, this is an option for you?
