Frame vs Engine #
« on: March 06, 2015, 10:41:32 PM »
I hope I am posting this question in the right place....
I bought a 1971 CB750 K1 a couple of years ago and have been slowly buying all of the NOS parts that I can find to restore it back  to like new condition only parts I'm having a hard time finding is the rear fender(guess I'm going to have to pay that outrageous price of $280) and an ignition switch.
Anyway I'm almost ready to start the project in a month or two but I noticed while searching for parts that there is usually a few hundred to a thousand numbers difference between the frame and the engine ID numbers on my 750 there is 99.
Is this unusual I've seen a lot of bikes on eBay that have a huge difference between the two.
Thanks in advance for your input.

I think it would be more unusual to find a bike with matching frame and engine numbers.

It's a little motor and likes having the tits revved off it.

There was a thread on number difference - the consensus was 100 +/- is most frequent.
