Mooshie/Lisa's Dash Rebuild:
It sounds like Mooshie aka Lisa logs some serious miles on long-range trips on her 550F.   8)  Riding a vintage CB for 3K miles almost assuredly involves some roadside servicing.  Good on you!
Lisa's Dash blog:   https://backdoormotoadventures.wordpress.com/the-evolution-of-dash/

Mods include: new indicators, shocks, chain, Lucas taillight, K&N pods (in place of the stock airbox), seat, bars replaced by Norman M bars and mini dash replacing original speedo/tach, Halcyon mirrors, upgraded fuseblock and ignition, front/bikini fairing, saddlebags, drilled front rotor, cables (throttle and clutch), stainless steel brake lines; and eliminated grab rail.  Designed by Lisa and executed by Dustin Kott in Newhall, California.

Devin/Cognitomoto 750
Devin's 750 build is documented on his build thread: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,131917.msg1473546.html#msg1473546

Mods include: GSXR front conversion, Motogadget electronics and gauge (incorporated mini gauge into the top of the triple tree), frame modifications for custom seat, newly developed oil tank, wheels/tires, Fox shocks, tank fab modifications for knee indents, and a bunch more.  Devin has used this bike to develop and showcase his many restomod products as well as new products from vendors like Fox and Motogadget.

Jayteenz 750
Would love to know more about Jay's build.

I'm hoping that all of the nominees, especially Mooshie and Jay (since they don't have build threads), will post a build recap/summary here.

Ok - so here is a summary of my restoration.
The bike is a 1974 K2 model as we did not get the K3 and K4 model in New Zealand (in case you don't know where NZ is, look at the map of the Pacific ocean and NZ is the two islands to the east of Australia).
The bike was in a reasonable overall condition and had travelled about 52,000 kms or 32,000 miles. Nicely for me the PO had already put a new set of 341 exhausts and front mudguard (fender) on it.

I completely stripped the bike and painted the frame, swingarm, stands etc.
The engine had the top end stripped and I replaced the rings, valves, guides and seals. The information on the forum was invaluable as I had never attempted this work before.
Other new parts fitted were:
- Rims and SS spokes
- Pamco ignition
- Seat foam and cover
- Wheel bearings
- Steering head bearings
- New brake caliper and lines
- New carb jets and needles
- New candy red paint
I also had the rear guard (fender), kick start and brake levers re-chromed.
The engine was painted with Duplicolor as I didn't fancy using high temp cure paints in the oven at home.
Lots of other work such as alloy polishing, switch refurbishment, painting and cleaning was also completed.

The work took about 8 months in total and I just need to put some miles on her now.
I haven't added up the costs as I'm too afraid to (and the wife might find it) !

I'll try and add some photos shortly.
Thanks for reading.

Dash and I are on the road. So far logged 1,500+ miles and we are in Colorado today. I don't have a "build" to post (I like the title of long range traveler" CB750) and that is what we are. I tried to take a glam shot for you all and here it is:

URL=http://s922.photobucket.com/user/lbm_05/media/image.jpg1_zpsvjo0bpsj.jpg.html]

Ha ha. There truly is nice shiny chrome under there I promise. But rode through rain and general muck in New Mexico.

Okay here is a pic before it got messy

Here is dash as he began his life somewhere in Missouri

URL=http://s922.photobucket.com/user/lbm_05/media/dash_stripped_01_zpsdpvzt9mg.jpg.html]

And here he is when he first came home. No fairing and different bobs and do dads that I changed out over the years. Ha ha. Some build huh?

URL=http://s922.photobucket.com/user/lbm_05/media/my550_2_032111.jpg.html]

And here we are today, well 3 days ago, in tombstone and what he looks like now.

Well thanks for looking and voting. I feel honored just to be nominated (but apparently dash wants to win!)  :). So vote for the dirty traveler!

BOTM is such a personal and subjective, friendly competition and recognition to the members of this forum and their prized bikes. Our support for one specific candadite typically reflects our personal tastes and admiration for their builds. I'm a big fan of Cafe Resto Mods but I'm increasingly gravitating to quality stock restorations. That being said, a motorcycle to be admired should be a motorcycle that gives to the owner as much as the owner gives to the bike and I don't know of another SOHC Honda that fits this description than Dash. I had the honour of hosting an evening with Mooshie and Dash almost 2000 miles from their home and that isn't unusual for this passionate couple.

A deserving candidate for sure.

Cheers
Jimmy
