Synced and tuned the carbs today. Starts right up and seems to run good for now. Idles around 1200-1300 rpms. Is that too much?? But everything is order and the seat will be upholstered sometime next week. And then photos photos photos. And this photo is before it was all synced up

1200-1300 sounds fairly common for many folks. It may change slightly depending upon weather or after you break that baby in, but not likely much lower.

BTW, have you checked all your ground wires lately? Lots of people miss snugging them down and torquing all fasteners after a lengthy rebuild. Honda had a habit of a Yellow Grease pencil on many of them to indicate "has been QA checked". Its a very good practice and will eliminate any mistakes or errant charging. I mean, while you wait for the seat, its something productive to do...

hey guys, so took a ride around the block. noticed something wrong or at least not right lol. i think one or more of my cylinders are not working. i did a top end rebuild, new ignition coils, new wires, new caps new spark plugs. all have spark. bike starts right up and runs. i haven't checked compression yet but hope to get to that. what should do or check for. the carbs are rebuilt with all new parts including jets. I'm new to this so i dont really know what it could be or what to check for. when i start the bike cold, i feel the exhausts, 1,3,4 get hot right away about same temp. but 2 barely gets warm by the time the others are too hot too touch. but i checked spark plug in cylinder 4 and it is dry. idk about the rest. are they getting enough fuel or air? or what do i check. thanks in advance

Sounds like the fuel level may be an issue. Also, did you adjust your valves properly?

The Clear Tube method would be my recommendation, especially since you rebuilt the carbs:

+1. A couple millimeters in fuel level makes a bigger difference than you think! (ask how I know

) At least its #4 and easier to get to.

Finally got my seat upholstered by my friend and got it in the bike. I think it looks great. Simple and clean like the whole build. Now to take it for some photo shoots

I call this build The Iceberg. Because, well, it's white. But also because like an iceberg you only get to see the top or finished result and have no idea whats underneath.
