Just curious would all the things discussed here work for a '74 CB750? and the motogadget site suggested above is that the one from Germany?
If you are referring to my post about their devices, then yes, they are capable of these features on any model, any year, even any brand  :o

You can purchase them locally(domestically anyway) through a variety of merchants. I use CognitoMoto or Revival Cycles in TX. Both are excellent, and the prices are exactly the same.

Yes, motogadget is the German site/company. Don't forget, on a 750 you also have the oil tank to consider, the 500/550 don't have one....

Any idea how much everything will cost shipped to the US? and I don't mind about oil tank, was just thinking of using the original battery bay as a small storage box? or am I just using too much imagination here?

The m-unit runs about $340 (central fuse box and ECU)
The m-button runs about $75 (control wire concentrator)
The m-lock runs about $175 (RFID key)

The m-button and m-key ar won't required. But to use them, the m-unit is. Which is to say you can't use the m-button alone with the m-unit. The m-button requires you to use suppressor wires from your coils, and the m-unit really wants a solid state regulator/rectifier, but not required. Just make sure yours is 100% stable.

The two websites I listed earlier are domestic US resellers of the Motogadget products, so there's no importation issues for you. Just like buying a TV made in Taiwan. Personally, I'd spend my money on their m-unit and one of their gauges over the RFID key and m-button, unless you have the budget for all of it.

But I will say this, the ultra small AmpHr battery that Maurice referenced would not be choice for me with a motogadget install. I find it hard to believe, not impossible, that our bikes could run with that 1.3 AmpHr battery under normal use. If he has it and says it does, I'm not disputing, but I can't see it surviving in night time riding with some stop and go. I am often wrong...

Your battery box is a suitable location for the motogadget install, but where then will you locate your battery?

Bookah, my thread might help, but I didn't document what length of wire, how many connectors I used, where I exactly mounted everything, how I routed and protected the wires, etc. I doubt that kind of "IKEA" instruction manual exists. You'll honestly just have to figure that out for yourself. By the end you'll know how to read and customize wiring diagrams.

Love the bike dave. Thanks for the thread link, I'll be sure to read through it later. Haha and I liked your point about the "ikea instructions." I just assumed some guides exist because of how common this mod is  :P

Also, I like your seat length, can you ride 2 up if you needed to?

Yeah, some guides would be nice, but there's probably 100 different ways to get my result. If I were you I'd get/make a box and place all the components you want to have in it. Then measure the length of wire you'd need. Too much and you'll have to accommodate all the extra wire, too little and you might not reach the components. Or make it a b!tch to remove for service.

Just make sure you solder all connections. For joining wire I'd use this method. Then heatshrink.

An H4 55w bulb draws 4.58ah. I don't think I would rely on a 1.3ah battery to keep me lit.
