Hi Folks.
Well only 4 years late but have finally made a start on my CR style street machine.
My first opportunity to look down the throats of a 750 head and have to say I was a little aghast at the sight.
First up is the valve stem diameter and the port volume it occupies. As it happens I have an R1100S Beemer 4V, that has 34/29mm inlet/exh vaves, but with 5mm valve stems (looked scrawny at first sight but normal now
.
I'm plan to fit a set of these as my first step towards better gas flow, but not sure about using the full diameter. They will also be lighter than the origionals. Fitted with Ti collets/keepers they should make life easier for the cam and springs. They will also get a TB coating, springs included.
Has anyone ... ... well I just answered my own question. Found this:
http://dynoman.net/engine/valves/5mm_conv.htmlHas anyone used this conversion kit, or have knowledge of its use?
Thanks.
