New tensioner material

I've read that people have been installing the new style chain tensioners (cam & primary) Has anyone disassembled an engine for any reason and inspected how the material held up, rollers or sliders? Any sign of bits in the oil pan?

I made a Delrin sliding block for a drive chain & it wears. I'd like to see pictures of how these tensioners look after some use.

Brent,  so far they look good. But no real time on them. Will post a pic. 915 cc  ran  with one til cam seized!  >:( ;D. Then replaced, made 3  passes, looked good, one of the first things I checked. Also wondering. Just not enough time yet on mine. Russ has 3 for the Triple I sent him.........they better work!  ;) ;D Bill

I have Cyclex cam (slipper type) and primary tensioners. After two full seasons and some dyno runs I found only a few flakes in the sump at tear down. The tensioners looked good so I reinstalled them. Early in the third season I had to dismantle again for top end repairs and found nothing. The same tensioners are still in use now going into season 4.

Good thanks guys. John was there evidence the chain side plates were wearing into the material some?

A little, but not significant. I have the fixed (manual adjust) primary, not the new double roller.

now that i think of it, let me take a good tensioner to one of our plastic experts and see what he thinks....

BTW, does the CBR tensioner have any initials like POM, PP or similar stamped on it? current laws require material identification for recycling

No signs of wear on my M3 Racing cam tensioner after a year.

I have not yet built my motor with Cycle X HD primary and cam chain tensioners (with their proprietary Delrinesque material).
