Anyone have recent probs with David Silver Spares? I am.
« on: May 13, 2015, 12:59:47 PM »
I bought a replacement rear rim the other day and it came to me yesterday. the condition that this rim was in is absolutely appalling.  Cheap Chrome / poorly polished metal, large dense and grind marks.  I emailed them with my disappointment yesterday, but have not heard back from them. and I just tried calling them today, but they are saying that they are closed and no one is answering the phone even though it is during normal business hours. just wondering if anyone else has had any recent bad or good experiences with them, and perhaps opinions from others who have bought replacement rims from them. I spent 120 dollars on what I thought was a quote stock replacement rim, but it is the cheapest junk I've ever seen.

Sorted it out.

A. Even though they have a Pennsylvania #, they answer in the UK.  so, 9-5 means 9-5 in the UK.

B. they accidentally sent me the absolute worst quality rim they had in the warehouse, which apparently should not even have been in the warehouse.  They are sending me an actual DID-brand rim, which is what I actually ordered.

So, prob solved.

You are correct about their telephone hours.  Sometimes it is better to email them.

Their customer service has been superb.

I have had problems with them. sent me the wrong part, took another two attempts to get the correct part. Was on ebay, told them I want the cables in the picture, could not get it right. Gave me traking numbers when the number did not exist.
I had to make it official on paypal. Finially got the part and for the first time had to give negative feedback.
It would seem when they make a mistake, the mistake is yours. Pity, he has so many parts, but the attitude is all so wrong. Look at his feedback, anything negative left for him , you are an outright lier!
His ebay reply was that I was the lier, but I had all the emails to prove they are full of crap!
Problem resolved, heard that one before, wait and see what happens! Good luck.

I got a wrong part once, but they were quick to send me the right one with no argument, and told me to keep the wrong bit. No issues there. Really happy with their service.

I ordered two 550 side panels and I received two lefts. I rang them and they sent a right hand out straight away and trusted me to return the other left hand one.
The only problem I have with them is postage within the UK.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

If you are buying from the US, make sure to order from their US site, as you will save on shipping.

I had a short delay when my parts ordered from the us site were still across the pond. No problem for me, the bike is apart anyway. good quality on everything so far and they have cb400 parts.
