As stated, someone knocked my bike over last night, I came out in the morning and someone had put it back up but the fall broke the mirrors, the clutch lever, and one of the rear turn signals. It also bent the bar switch assembly back. I turned the key on and it seemed like all the switches still work on that assembly which is good. The bike also looks like it leaked some oil out. It looks like their is oil on the block and i have no idea why it would be there, Anyways I'm just curious if there is anything i should do before attempting to start the bike again (besides get a working clutch lever)

No, sadly not. I live in a college town and it was probably just some drunk college dudes who thought it would be a good idea to sit on my bike.

I still have an old photo from where I looked out my apartment (3rd floor) one fine morning to see my bike in full side profile.
Grr...it leaked most of the acid out of the battery, onto my seat pan and seat cover, ruining the cover overnight. Broke the brake lever, took the paint off the back of the oil tank, too. Scratched up the fairing, bent the engine crash bar, too. Whoever did it drove off, because the car next to my bike had no scratches on it where it would have had them from hitting it.

Check your battery level?

At some point maybe check steering stops for bend or broken off as well as verifying there are no other ill effects with the front forks, alignment of steering etc. Sorry about your bike.

HM I can top that-

3rd floor in the morning just like you but someone knocked my bike over into my new truck . Both were damaged my bike and my truck!
Just bought the truck the night before and I was stupefied seeing this. It is such a sick sight to happen across a bike on its side(especially if its yours... first thoughts are hey wait a damn minute this isnt right). Its like seeing an old man who has fallen and cant get up or a turtle on its back. Man sorry to hear though . On principal I never park a bike next to my car or truck now.

Ow, double whammy! That's just sickening... :(
After that event, I took to parking my bike ACROSS a parking spot, the same one where I usually parked my car. I surmise that whoever it was that KO'd my bike took the hint, and no one else ever tried to park then in "my" spot.

Although I don't suppose folks knowing my general biker attitude toward such things hurt the attempts at 'securing' my parking spot after that. [We] bikers do carry something of a reputation... ;)

Continuing with your train of thought, Mark, I'm still of the opinion that we should get loads of these stickers I had posted in the humor page  mass-produced for all our bikes!  ;D

They should be OEM stickers, IMNSHO. :)
