Help me identify this seat...
« on: May 29, 2015, 06:10:11 AM »
When I bought this seat I was told it was for a 750F. The profile looked right and it's in damn near perfect condition.

HOWEVER

The hinge and locking mechanism are backwards. The hinge is on the right hand side and the lock is on the left. I set it on my SOHC F to confirm that the things are backwards. It doesnt seem to have any identification markings or at least I dont know where to look for them.

Here are a couple pictures of it. Please help me figure out what this thing is...oh and if you want it, shoot me an offer :-D

Looks like you have a '78F which were hinged left and lock on the right. The F0 and F1 were opposite configuration I believe. The seat looks to have the right shape for the rear cowl so perhaps it is an F seat, just an earlier vintage that yours.

Mike

Ater looking at the seat a bit closer I might agree with goldarrow about it not being a 750F seat.

Thanks for the input guys. I agree the contour looks right but the hinge position is throwing me off. I'm going to double check it this evening against my other seat for this bike. I made it so I could run the original seat if I wanted...which I dont think i'll ever do :-D
