Found out just how far you can ride on a 7A main fuse.  Scouting for places to do a plug chop test, and seeing how the weather was wonderful I decided to take a ride.
I was enjoying the ride, passing all the rush hour traffic going the other way, hit my signal, main blows, I coast it around the corner and onto a nice wide shoulder.
"No problem, I'll just pull out my spare....."  Whoops, my spare fuses in my OTHER jacket.
So I had to use the only fuse I had available, a 7A turn signal fuse, and since my turn signals were shorted out somewhere - no loss.

I had to ride on that fuse for a LONG time, the whole while hoping that
1)  No traffic to hold me up
2)  It didn't decide to give up the ghost

Still turned out to be a nice ride, although I think I have an air leak to track down among other things.

Last thing I need to do is stuff a wedge of cheese in my mesh jacket.  Probably hang it up once the rain starts, only to find it next year.

You know what, as I'm typing this I'm eyeballing a spare 6mm bolt that I had laying around - just about the right size...

All good doing the old alfoil trick if its a faulty fuse but if there is a real short there you could be setting up for a signal fire and burn that bikes wiring out. Nothing like the smell of burning wiring, its a smell you never forget

Fuse is never a problem !   It's an indicator of another bigger problem.

Mythbusters did the bullet for a fuse test. Probably not fatal but never a good idea. They really had to crank it up to make it fire. I'd consider shooting it first.
 Glad you made it home, hope it's an easy fix like a bulb filament.

We'll see.  Haven't had a chance to take a gander, but I suspect the rear right signal is shorting against the grab bar somewhere.  Could have swore I fixed it already, but obviously not.

I wouldn't ignore a shorting problem for longer than I had to - because ultimately it's far less work to fix it than keep replacing fuses.  Finding it is the issue - it's not like water pipes where spotting the dampness is your clue.
