Hello all. I'm new to the forums and the new owner of a 72 350F, Green, 1,600 original miles, complete, no parts missing, including an intact original exhaust system with NO rot (one obligatory battery acid scar), complete tool kit, owner's manual, original one owner title. ..I got it for $725 My initial plan was to cafe it, but after realizing what I have, I'm shooting for a "clean but not pristine" restoration with no repainting/replating/parts replacement.
The tank was lined/sealed some time ago with a clear substance that I'm not familiar with. Back in the day we used "Kreme". I really think I can pull off a nice clean rider with no more than carb/brake/ignition rebuild and new tires.
So far all surface rust has come off cleanly. This will be a slow project for an old man who was in high school when it was new, done mostly in front of the TV with a cold Guinness. I'm looking forward to being a part of this forum.
