With a nod to TIA for the catchy thread title. :D
Now, I  understand that the more astute among us will have already noticed the missing exhaust spring. ;D
Seriously though I've found the seat to be unobtainium on this planet; maybe I can make an XR500 seat work. ;D
I'm a dirt dude again for the first time in 35 years. :) :) :)

For me, ridiculous cost is the same as unobtainium. :-\

Bought a new MT250 right off the showroom floor back in the day. Didn't keep in long, thing foul plugs like a mother and decided 2 strokes weren't for me. Traded it on a 1976 CB550. Now that was a nice bike.

Splurge put the 135-160 bux into a  seat and have a 900 dollar bike...
Or leave it incomplete.. Then it looks like a 300 bike..unfinished..

Haven't ridden it more than around the cul de sac.  Mine was relieved of all it's street gear and oil injection.  All was done nice and clean and tidy, except the hack job on the wiring.  It ran fine, but I'm re wiring it and putting a new seat cover on.  it was also loud as hell.  I found a NOS Hooker pipe for the bike that was only $100 more than used stockers.  Also, it came with the wrong tank.  I have the correct one now but need to de-rust it.  All has been on hold as I fractured my tibia dirt biking 6 weeks ago.  You can see it in the 'CT70 resurrection' link below in its original state.
