Daiichi points and condensers

Yes, you guys warned me, but I had already purchased two sets of daiichi points and condensers.

I installed them a few days ago, and after about 200 miles of riding, I suddenly lost spark to cylinders 1,4. Cylinders 2,3 were firing.

I stopped to troubleshoot and after a short cooling off, it started back up again and let me ride another 2 miles or so before packing up. Then another stop and it would be back again for another 5 miles. Then when re-checking spark to plug #4, it suddenly starts firing again with no inputs from me but stops soon after and never fires again. It has been warm these last few days, the engine is not overheating or anything.

I wait 2 1/2 hours for CAA tow because I didn't pack the spare condensers or points.

While on the roadside, I checked the static timing with a lamp tester and it was fine. So there is current flowing from the battery to the condenser. Points and gap are looking okay. The only thing I can suspect is a faulty condenser.
Your thoughts?

I am going to order the proper points and condensers now... :-(

Way before it. I bought a bunch of parts last year and the two extra sets of points and condensers plus a spare points plate. I did not have the heart to trash those as they cost money... :-)

Switch condensers between 1-4, 2-3 and see if problem follow.
Yellow and blue wires are properly connected with main harness and then to coils. Bad connection, corroded pin/socket.

I had the same problem recently - got the daichi warning from these guys too.

now I have sudcos waiting to be put on....after I find a new exhaust  :o

After all the threads about cheap aftermarket points, I don't understand why anyone would buy something other than TEC/Nippon Denso?

really hate to break this to you...but last time I bought points/condensors from Sudco, they were just Daaichi in a Sudco labeled package.  It was about 2 or 3 years ago.
