PD Carb linkage pass through gaskets
« on: September 03, 2015, 08:51:09 PM »
Hi,

I am in the middle of a carb rebuild on my 78F. I have various gaskets in the pass through holes the throttle linkage runs to connect the 4 carbs. There are felt style rubber and none. Can some one tell me what is suuposed to be in there and where I can get replacements? I have searched the usual part sites and gone through a ton of schematics with no luck.

Thanks,

Zach

Its supposed to be a little felt ring but I've been told that they are no longer available. I left the ones that were there and did nothing for the ones that weren't, they seem to be there to keep gunk out...they don't seal anything.

Yes--they are just basically to help keep the gunk out.  Not important for sealing at all.

Remember, the vacuum sync procedure involves taking OFF the caps and adjusting them like that, so don't worry about it being a good seal.
