350F Cush Drive Rubber Removal.
« on: September 10, 2015, 02:58:53 AM »
As it says in the title.

I am reconditioning the rear wheel, hub and brakes and I have a set of 4 new cush drive rubbers.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to remove the old rubbers without burning them out and then trying to collapse the outer sleeve without damaging the alloy surrounding them?

Just a few days ago I removed mine. A 1" hole saw, preferably mounted in a drill press, (but not necessary), perfectly removes entire bushing without damaging inside diameter of hub. I used a hand held drill for the first one. Works fine if you're careful. Not even an impact hammer, after soaking in Kroil 3 days, would remove mine. Where did you finc the bushings? I paid a fortune for mine, from some guy in England, after an exhaustive search

I got my bushings from a UK supplier on ebay.

They were about £12 for the set.

David Silver has them but they are more expensive.

..................................and I thought I'd check the new ones before removing the old ones and it turns out they're the wrong size.

Ebay strikes again!

They're going back to the suppliers.
