K cam in F motor?
« on: September 13, 2015, 12:16:18 pm »
I have a K motor with an RC big bore and stroked kit,it is fitted with a F2 head. The cam that was in it has no markings and I did not "reverse dial it in"when I stripped the motor so I have no clue on valve timing settings. I do have a Cycle X CX3 cam which is a Web Cam 63A grind from a K series engine. My question is can I fit this cam into my F2 head? I understand that I will need to check valve to valve and valve to piston clearances but are there any inherent problems in fitting a K series cam into a F2 head?
Any help appreciated,
Tony

As far as aftermarket cams, they will fit all SOHC motors.

I have been running a stock K model cam (can't remember what year it came out of, best guess K7) in my F3 for about 7000 miles now, works fine, just stabbed it in there, no degreeing, did miss the high rpm charge of the F3 cam, but now it has better midrange, overall, butt dyno says very slight difference in real world power
If it works good, it looks good...
