What if I get tempted in California/Nevada?
« on: September 19, 2015, 04:01:38 AM »
Visiting California and Nevada in October for a road trip with my 22yo son.

Arrive in LA and plan to drive to Las Vegas, then on to San Francisco and back to LA.

Just wondering what to do if I get tempted?

You know what its like, away from home in a different country, should I even consider it?

Bit worried if something catches my eye, could I resist?

It is such a dilemma, I mean what if I find a really great motor bike or car at a great price :-)

I probably wont be able to stop myself from looking at local ads :-)

Have always fancied a Jaguar E Type (XKE) or maybe a Mustang, if I am tempted and cant resist, does any one know any good shippers to the UK?

Go for it mate, I bought my K0 from a member here and had it air-freighted back to Oz, and it all went smoothly. The Oz dollar is crap compared to the US dollar at the moment due mainly to the US' dodgy economy suddenly improving out of all sight in recent years, so I won't be importing any more bikes in the short term, but certainly, with a strong UK pound you're in a good position to buy some toys. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I think the west coast has the most expensive stuff of everywhere. That being said, there are deals to be had.

I think you would do better as far as price in the plains or Great Lakes area.

And if it's motorcycles you want to see/ buy, Birmingham  Alabama on the second week of October is vintage bike Mecca.

I thought a hooker was cheaper than a wife?

In the long run, sadly, yes. Ask my friend that just got divorced or the other sap I worked with.

When flying from the UK to the US west coast, what's the route? Just curious.

Up and over . . . Iceland, tip of Greenland, lots of Canada, western states - at least to L.A.
