Yeah thats true. I remember that the oil tank was never too hot to touch so i think the temp will easily stay under 55c°. First decree burn appears around 50c°.

My oil bag definitely gets HOT to the touch. Perhaps you can line the battery sleeve with some material to shield it from the heat. This has been done before pretty recently.

Batteries in the bucket are pretty commonplace... Put something around it should help...

Yes. I will insulate the battery.
Btw. I have to say that here up north the problem usually is how not to get hypotermic when biking

We are lucky to get 50°F

....still waiting for the gasget kit. There was 4-7 weeks delivery notice.

Intake rubbers arrived from japan. Pretty good quality. Wont see the difference from the originals. I hope that the rubber material is good too.

A little update. The engine is now ready.
Iv being doing the rebuilt slowly along the winter.

Yep. 750cc. I tryed to find a ring set for that H.A kit but after 3months i gave up. Even Top Seal didnt answer to my emails.
One company in Italy has got all the sizes and shapes pistonrings but minimum order is 100pc.

I found a stock cylinder and pistons with rings from ebay. They were shipped from Milwaukee.

not a real big perf build,just new chains bearings,main and rods,rc steel rods,900 ha kit,with a mildly ported head,small cam to start but have others,longer list of small things but that's the high points.billp

Electrics are almoust done. I kept it simple.
Only front and tail lights. No singnals yet. I have to find a pair that looks good and can be fitted on the handlebar.
Next up is oil lines and exhaust.
After that the first attemt to start.

Jihaa!!! Drove it for first time. Oil pressure and other funktions seem to be allright.
Little bit more tlc and il be taking it for a spin after 9 years.

What do you guys recommend for electronic ignition?
There are few labels on stores but what would be best price / quality?

couldnt help my self. Yesterday i drove 20km. What a awesome feeling to drive a bike that you built your self ( for the second time). The suspension worked fine too. Only the wiring problem ( solved) and a small oil leak ( working on it) spoiled my day.

I had to take a small Daniels shot again
