I've started a new thread on Samauto II's transformation.  Rear wheel has new tire, 630 rear sprocket and chain replaced with 530 setup. Rear wheel off a Suzuki GS750 or 1000. Rear wheel spins for 5 minutes! Wow! Bill
More later tonight.  ;D

Keep it movin man!! You're getting there. Lots to do and not much time left.

At some point, the two of us need to stop this last minute crunching, get our equipment together early so we can be relaxed when we get to the track. We're not getting any younger and these long days/nights picking at these bikes takes a toll on an old mans's body. Eventually it shows at the track on race day and not in a positive way.

Is that a DRL300 limiter??

Sure looks like it.  Billy are you running a 130 or 140 series rounded section tire on that bike?   Holy smokes, that's a lot of motor and chassis being thrown at such a modest tire contact patch...   your a brave man.

Man, I wish I had a 17 , next year I will! But no, it's  a 150/60×18, but has internal rim locks, I'll post a pic. And still has at least 50 psi plus when pic was taken from seating bead. ;D. But, I hear you!  K, Bill So I can run lower pressures and get mo contact patch.

What width rim are you running it on?  That would make a big difference on how flat the tire crown will be.  If your on a 3.5x18 rim,  you might be stuck with a fairly tall and narrow profile.  Oh that was the BT45 tire that you picked up recently?

George.

I've tried that rear brake setup. I'm up to high 11's estimated best using it. I suspect that the bike will pull through the rear brake pressure with the right cam and converter. This is sounding more and more like a slow off the line, top end strong bike. Good luck with this one. You definitely need some test and tune time to sort out the launch. I just hope that the fiber clutches are mostly there. If they are badly worn, you'll find a slipping clutch on launch and/or at the gear shift. Good luck!

Bill will be a busy man testing both bikes on next Friday at SGMP. 10am to 3pm should be long enough as long as there are no problems to sort out. And then the one time run after 4pm that evening to round things out. Personally I'd double enter and ride both bikes myself.
