Newb with a 1973 CB500
« on: November 03, 2015, 04:47:58 PM »
I've worked on cars (mostly aircooled) and Jeeps for many years. But I know very little about motorcycles.  I bought my first daily rider a little over a year ago and then decided to jump in with both feet on a project.  Here she is...

1973 CB500, 28k miles, last tagged in 2013, supposedly put up in storage in 2014, gas tank and carbs were drained, no battery, missing 1 pod filter, no tool kit, bent clutch lever. PO did include the Clymer as well which I am reading through.  I'm here to get this old girl up and running and then ride, ride, ride

Download the actual manual from here - http://manuals.sohc4.net/cb500/ - the Clymer can be a source of misinformation.

And welcome! You will find a veritable font of information to help you on your project.  Bike looks good.
