Topic: Where to get metal stock

I'm looking to get block of aluminum for a project on my 750, problem is everywhere I look they want about $300 for a piece of aluminum.  Can anybody point me in a direction to find fairly cheap aluminum?

Try to find a place like Metal Supermarket, that sells and ships small quantity.
Also lots for sale on ebay..and sometimes aircraft surplus shops. Boeing used to have huge chunks of aluminum..
And shops that use lots may have crops or drops.. As they are  called.
 If you are looking to make a manifold out of one piece, my guess at a normal price is more like around 100.00.    300 seems out of line ...

Its a two piece design (well 1 flat stock and 4 cylindrical pieces), but I can get away with billet rods for the spigots.  I guess I'm just looking in the wrong places.

Be careful there, tubing is ok if 6061.... But soft pipe is crap to machine..
 I think he is building an intake, the port will look a bit like the left side of my drawing, except the smaller end will be curved more than shown..

For my air filter I used aluminum tube from and old sunbrella, it had enough meat on it to turn it to the right dimension.
