D&K frames Q?
« on: November 08, 2015, 09:11:25 pm »
Does anyone know if there's a D&K dragbike frame blueprint anywhere online? I'm assuming they don't make new ones anymore.  I've got a tig, bender, a table to work off of and no customer funny Cars to build this winter.  A really good side view photo could be scaled for dimensions I guess. Just bench racing, but they look awesome.

Don,

I've no knowledge of the D&K frames but what would be the chance of getting you to duplicate a drag chassis in full chromemoly?? I bought  a front half Hayabusa motor based drag chassis but it was converted from a GS based full chassis. The chassis is a bit heavier than i would like and really want something a little less weighty. Just a thought.

Chrome Moly is what we do, shoot me a picture and we'll take a look at it.
I'd assume it's more efficient to buy the machined parts like frame neck and axle adjusters. My welder builds World champ pro stock cars by day and part time we repair funny cars and dragsters.
We're not drag bike guys (yet) our Funnycars have gone 260 plus and my daughters dragster has 4 seasons on it's new back half,  7.40's at 180.

Good eye.  Yes exact same frames.  The blue one has the original seat/fender, chain guard assemble and looks to have never been run.   It belongs to one of our esteemed forum members ;)

Both are great candidates to put together a vintage dragster.

Don, if you enjoy the challenge and process of building one from scratch, I can document the dimensions of that frame, with photos.  Otherwise either of the candidates on ebay would be a more cost/time efficient option.

George.
