Nice pickup! I've got a decent set of HM341's here for my K2 resto, but need some HM300's for my K0 and K1, and I know I won't find any decent used HM300's in Oz, so I'm up for around $4K for new repro's.......... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Guys I was watching Dino's video from hackaweek to start my timing. He mentioned 2 different kinds of spark advance. I bought. This one off of a scrapyard with some engine covers, but I don't think it's correct one....can I use the one from K3? And if I go electronic ignition is this part still needed? Thanks.

Took spark advance from K3 looks the same...checked engine# and it's 24520XX, looks like a K6 engine...unless they just swapped cases, anybody have a picture of early model spark advances? Also if I use some sort of electronic ignition would this solve this problem if it wrong one? Thanks.

Later spark advance will work ok, just a few degrees less advance.  Yes, you will need it with most electronic ignitions.

Keep looking for a k0 advancer....it will gain ya a pony or 2.

So after I sorted out my static timing. I cleaned up my valve cover and put it on. Got some buddies for some muscle and we pulled engine out of basement to the garage. I have a question....should I run regular plugs until she's tuned and running well, then switch to iridium plugs? Thanks.

Looking good mate. Unless you've got your heart set on iridiums, I'd say don't bother. Hondaman advised me to use D7EA's in one of my CB750's years ago and I put them in all my 750's now, they're one heat range hotter than the standard D8's, but work better with modern fuels and overly rich mixtures, so if you're running #120 main jets in your K0 carbs, you'll probably do well to run D7's. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Thanks Terry, picked up 4 of those bad boys as I went to dealer to pick up my throttle cable. Well guys got engine in frame all bolted in, hooked up some wiring, not all yet. Put pipes in....i couldn't wait..., don't know if that's the right order but looks so nice now. I have a couple of questions. I have been reading a lot about air lock in oil system to pressurize. What is do you guys reccomend for priming pump? I have read to drop a quart down the head by the cam chain to get thing started. Also what kind of oil do you recommend? Also when it's time to fire it up...with airfilter housing on or off? Thanks in advance.

That looks bloody fantastic mate, well done! Yep, pour some oil in the camcover, and undo the oil pressure guage adapter plug above the points cover and pour as much oil in the port as you can. Put the oil gallery plug back in, Leave the spark plugs out and crank the engine for a minute or two, looking into one of the valve adjuster cap holes to make sure that oil is getting up to the head, then install the spark plugs and fire it up.

With the engine idling, keep watching the oil spraying around inside the cam cover until you're satisfied that the oil is circulating as it should. Once you're happy with it, send me your address so I can send you my 1969 K0 to restore, I've owned it almost as long as you've owned yours and I haven't touched mine yet! Cheers, Terry. ;D

So we had the labour day long weekend and I took full advantage, hunkered down for a few good days. I consider myself very lucky put all wiring together only this that wasn't working was horn and low beam, after some re-cleaning those connections and the 46 year old electrics were all working. All lights on gauges work also. All I can say is that I would considering doing this magnitude of a project if I hadn't found this great community. Thanks to everyone that replied to my questions. Also special thanks to steve "swoop" for all the behind. The scene emails and the parts that I needed that were hard to find, thanks to John "greenjeans" for the bottom half of airbox that I needed, also to "lash" for wiling to part with his nice set of pipes, thanks to my son Dylan for being the extra hand when I needed it, and my wife for her patience!

Yup she's a runner! Took her for my first spin yesterday, she ran beautiful until I was a couple of miles from home, lost some power a little backfiring and lost cylinder 1 and 2, when I got her home no hot air for moth left side pipes, im suspecting some sort of fuel issue, will have to tinker tonight after work, these are the joys I guess of wrencing on old bikes, but it felt awesome for 95% of the ride.

Ok guys, here's the deal, I checked my petcock and there was only fuel coming out of one line, cleaned it out and switched ports, still nothing, fuel was getting to bowls. Checked for spark, lots. I found it strange that I have very little pressure coming out of both exhausts, im not sure if that's normal, so I popped exhaust tappet out of #1 and ints not moving, then I check #2 exhaust nothing, then both intakes and they also not moving. Could the cam have broken? I'm so disappointed she ran beautiful and pulled really nice. You guys think maybe oil gallery to that tower got plugged somehow? Looks like I'm gonna have to pull motor out to investigate what's happening under the cam cover. Thanks for your help.

I have to say that is one good looking 750. Sorry to hear about your fuel issue. Hopefully someone on here can give you some quality advice.
