Topic: Can anyone give me a measurement of the oil ring groove on Wiseco 836 piston?

Or the recommended clearances?
I have what appears to be some factory seconds? And the oil ring groove is a bit fubared.

swoop,just measured my weisco 836 oil ring grooves
3.5 mm depth
2.8mm width
mine also have holes under the oil ring,bill

Seems strange tho....my 3 oil rings come in at about 3.5 mm when combined. (Height, width....whatever , top to bottom) Wouldn't fit in a 2.8 width groove.

swoop I measured with a set of dig calipers,the top to bottom measurement of 2.8 is very close,there are a couple of diff ringsets for these pistons,I think my pistons say 4016 on top,what do yours say,did the rings come with the pistons?bill

hey swoop measured my oil ring height and it was 2.7 ,3pc oil ring,my rings are weisco 2559xc, so I think your problem is the rings.you can get the rings from weisco in Ontario.bill
