The 2016 SOHC Calendar thread - post your photos here!!
« on: November 27, 2015, 05:15:42 pm »
Update on 1/1/2016:

Both calendars are now available for purchase.

The Bike of the Month calendar showcasing the BOTM winners from 2015:
---->  http://www.lulu.com/shop/sohc4-2016-calendar-bikes-of-the-month/calendar/product-22485533.html   <----

And...

The premium members calendar, with pictures submitted by forum members of their bikes on the road (or on the track):
----> http://www.lulu.com/shop/sohc-2016-premium-calendar/calendar/product-22507446.html <----

End update

Who wants a 2016 SOHC calendar for the holidays?.... everyone, right?  :)

OK, normally Andy750 does the calendar and does an exceptional job.  I'm volunteering to do it this year and I'll do my best to try and maintain the level of quality and group effort Andy established in the past.

Of course, we're getting a really late start so I'm not sure how much time we'll have to pull this together.  Ideally, we'll have something to purchase at least a week before the end of December.

I figure we should take a two pronged approach to make sure we can make this goal:
1. Do the normal process where everyone submits pictures - We can vote and/or possibly have multiple calendar versions
2. I also think I'll just start putting a calendar together of the "Bike of the Year" Finalists - there's 12 Finalists so that works out well.

OK... as usual:

Requirements for submission:
  • Photos must have been taken in 2015
  • Photos should be accompanied by location of  photo, bike model/year and you should state that you agree that the photo can be used for the SOHC Calendar.
  • Remember nice clear photos with an interesting backdrop stand a much better chance of getting in:  wild scenery, shops, bridge, race track, hot biker chick - or hot biker guy for our SOHC4 lady members?  :D , etc etc...get creative!
  • as a follow-up on #3 - please remember to consider the composition of your picture - sometimes I see a lot of almost awesome shots but the background is too strong that it actually takes away from the image of the bike

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

Haha yea, that's Gary IN hometown of Michael Jackson. That pic is from this year's Godzilla ride, Sean came over to Whiting to meet up with me to go to Cedar Lake as a part of the ride and made some fun stops on the way from Michigan.

Here is one for the non BOTY calendar from the same ride, I wish I had left the tank stripe/bead on but oh well.

Cedar Lake IN 2015 SOHC4/Godzilla Relay Rally.

For those who'd like to see more, check out the ride log here

1975 CB750F, March 2015, Southwestern Idaho, with the Owyhee Mountains in the background.  The bike had just rolled over 150,000 miles. You can use the photo.

That's a nice idea!

General pretty landscape/glam shots for one Calendar, and then one just for BOTM winners.

For what it's worth, here is a picture of my 750 K6 at Sandy Hook Light House.

Now if you can get a picture from the West Coast showing the Ocean or a West Coast Light House we could have
"From Sea to Shining Sea".  :)

Edit:  Added a picture of the 750 in front of Earth Station Diana.  Diana was the Earth to Space Relay point for a great deal of our space program communications.
