Topic: Need Help with cr29 carbs

Hello!
 Need some Ideas.
 I just bought a set of Keihin CR 29 mm carbs for my 76 cb750 and have been searching for ways to mount vacuum ports so I can hook up my carb-tune and be able to sync the carbs.
 Any and all ideas would be much appreciated.

Install 1/8" barbs(?) in the intake runners.

 Are you referring to the rubber intake boots? Thought about that but not sure how to keep them in place.
 Seems kinda lame that for the money these carb cost there no provisions made in them to hook up syncing gauges.
 Has anyone drilled and tapped the cr carbs for the screw plugs that come on the stock cb750 carbs?

yup, and the stock carbs will probably run better too, unless you take your bike and CRs to a dyno..  You have a ton of tuning ahead of you, and many would say you're never going to find a happy place where you have a good idle and rest of the range simultaneously.

 I hear what your saying about the tuning of these carbs, most likely going to be tough, but I have managed to get the stock carbs working good with pods and a 4 into one pipe - that was a tough one also, which included reshaping the bottoms of all the carb slides.
 Had the stock carbs on and off so many times I feel like I could do it in my sleep.
 I certainly debated buying the CR carbs but found a good deal on a set of used ones and could not pass it up. They had been set up for a mild 836 motor - the story was that the owner lost interest in the bike and decided to part it out....? Who knows, but the carbs are in really good shape (came with the filters) and were bought at the right price.

 How are the hose barbs held in place in the rubber boots ?  I'm sure the holes in the boots can be sized so the barbs fit tight but that sounds like an air leak waiting to happen. Are the 1/8'inch barbs the same on both ends or is one end threaded?
