No riding for today!
« on: November 29, 2015, 09:53:06 AM »
 :'(

Weather's been in the 20's for the past week or so, normally that doesn't bother me, but woke up this morning, hitched the trailer, and took the truck out to practice my trailer skills.  Barely made it up the first hill before I got serious tire slide.  Freezing fog last night, roads are totally glazed with ice.

Let that be a lesson for you - just because the roads look clear, doesn't mean they are when it's below freezing.  Black ice city today.

Freezing fog?!!  What the . . .
yeah, its crazy stuff.
We've had totally clear nights down into the low 20's.
Sometime in the night the fog rolls in, freezes and falls to the ground, filling in all the road texture.  Everything is coated in this crazy white dust.
You wouldn't make it past the first corner on 2 wheels.
Its been in the upper 30's during the sunny days.  Roads in the sun are fine.  Anything in the shade and its an accident waiting to happen.
Came up on a Silverado 2500 on the freeway yesterday, spun out for absolutely no reason.  No traffic.  Totalled.  Driver was ok.

There was a reason. He was going too fast. You learn how to drive in ice real quick when you live in it. Especially when it's black ice!!

Well have no fear, we're back in the 50's and stormy by the end of the week.  I wouldn't be shocked if we got a little of the white stuff though.

Nothing says winter in Seattle like lower 40's/upper 30's and rain. ::)

HAHA We had friends over for T Day from east of the mountains where its been ~ 13 -23F. They couldn't believe how cold Seattle was! A little bit of humidity goes a long ways I guess. My bike sits covered for now.
