Aftermarket "cone filters" for 500 Four
« on: December 15, 2015, 06:34:45 AM »
THinking ahead on rebuild and am considering whether to fit these instead of the standard Honda stuff

REasons

1) Suspect ealrier to get on and off than the fight I had getting the carbs off with the stock ones fitted

2) By the time I add up new rubber for the air side and head side I may well be looking at similar monies

Now my questions

A) Can anyone recommend ones they have tried other than K&N. The K&N ons work out pretty expensive

I spotted these on Fleabay, at a really good price

B) Will the standard jet sizes still be OK?

If you think there's light at the end of the tunnel it's usually another train !!

UK based?

I use S&B from Hitchcocks. Good quality (as good as K&Ns IMO). You may have to ring them with the stub diameter to check they have the size you need, they're very helpful and great on Enfields but not so knowledgable on Hondas!

And yes, you will need to rejet.
