Quaife gearbox
« on: January 11, 2016, 11:49:52 am »
Has anybody any experience of CB750 Quaife gearboxes? Are they a straight like for like replacement for the standard box? Were they any good? Anybody know the ratios?

Any information much appreciated.
I'm only old on the outside.

I am on my way to maybe buy one. I wait for data on it. Quaife still makes spares as I understand on them. Ii has a different ratio than Nova and stock, but still not similar as the original 970 gear boks....

It's not that Sam, I know where there is one for sale but I don't know the ratios etc so I can ensure it is a genuine Quaife.

Thanks Jadahonda - you wouldn't know the ratios (or even the number of teeth) on the Quaife box would you?

Well 1st gear on mainshaft, if it's more than 18, it's not stock. CR 1st gear is the same as 2nd std, 24t.
