Bahhh I know! I am actually working about 60 hours a week and remodeling my house. It's literally a mad house.

I finally ordered a wiring kit for the m-unit so Im just going to get my stocker wired up and once it is running I'm diving head first back into the monoshocker!

The best part about the remodel is that I am actually moving into the space right above the three car garage I'm building my bikes out of =)  No more cross town drives to the shop!

I'm running 2007 GXSR 750 front forks and a single brake. It is over a pound lighter than the stock stuff it replaces.

You also should consider that fact that a new aluminum rimmed wheel may also reduce weight.

Weird... did my last couple of posts with pictures of the rear sets get deleted?   :-\

I will get some update pics updated and reuploaded.

I have spent the last 2 weeks on the road with both sides of my fam so not much progress but I did get a Smith cutting torch/welding set, a makita die grinder with variable speed and a bunch of other tools for Christmas :) more progress to come soon

Back in BLAC.

I cant believe it happened, but life got in the way again. Good news is that it has all been good news and positive changes. Im still at my house with my shop and everything, but I took a job in Seattle. I told them I wasn't willing to relocate so I commute every other week. its a bit of a trek but not that bad.

Asside from work changes, I have gotten a lot more into fabrication and metal shaping. So while I havent made all that much progress on my monoshock bike, I have bought a lot of new tools and have been learning how to use them. Meing able to shape metal will let me get my build to where I want it to end up.

oh I guess the other bit of news is that I got yet another distraction to suck my time away from my cb's =P

BLAC, you have been busy! Nice job on that cowl...drop that puppy on eBay for $$ if you are not going to use it. You either are a quick study or have had a very good mentor from that piece you share with us. Kudos on learning that kind of skill.
That Aston is gorgeous! Love the color.

My last name is Martin and my wife was not in favor of naming our son Austin Martin as it was a blend of Austin Healy and Aston Martin and I have a soft spot for both and enjoy cars and used to do a lot of car work when I had my restomod '66 Volvo 122S 2 door.

Just so no one gets the wrong idea.  Bryan works like a beast.  He's also pushed himself to learn metal shaping from (in my opinion) one of the best metal fabricators in the custom motorcycle industry (Cristian Sosa of Sosa Metal Works).  Give him a follow if you want some inspiration. 

The only problems are that (1) Bryan is now unsatisfied with a standard metal piece, and wants the elusive standard of perfection -- and Bryan's practice pieces keep on getting better; and (2) the finite resource of time and too many toys and projects.

Cal- she is a pretty little thing! I waited until I found the right one, 19k miles and a 6 speed manual. I love it so far! I even used my "aston ownership" to get my way into the factory earlier this month in Gaydon, England.... they had some serious toys in there that made mine look like a honda civic..

RAF- Austin Martin would be an incredible name haha

Don- working with Christian and seeing his buddies is always an amazing experience. He does stuff that makes my brain hurt but he also can break it down to a bite size level where you start to understand some of the magic. Later next month im heading out to Mojave to work with Gene Winfield for a couple days. I look forward to seeing other methodologies and combining the best of both workflows. Christian will be the first to tell you he shapes metal "his style".

Here is the latest update from the Monoshocker project. I have the rear cowl wireframe done, next step is to finish the gas tank that will fit the look.

Im also considering making the cowl/seat and the gastank as 1 piece so it comes off as a unit and there will be no gap between the seat and the tank..





These things take lots of time and hurt your fingers to make  :P

Dude, instead of 1/8 ER TIG rod, use SilBr. It’s softer and more pliable. Yeah, it costs a bit more, but it’s much more supple too.

Yep, I have a bunch of silnr that i was planning to use to get my frame all smooth and perfect with. I havent tried using it for wireframes, I have only used 3/32 ER
