I like the orange & black one much better.  It fits the lines of the bike much better, IMO.

How are you "doing the math" as to the placement of the swingarm, spring rate necessary, etc.?

Very cool.  They should have no problem building you a custom monoshock.

But in seriousness, it was not as complicated in there as I feared...

The only problem I ran into was pulling the pin out of the main shift fork drum... I got it started, had a rag propped up behind it to catch it, but it missed the rag, shot across the room and beyond the edge of our visible universe... Ill have to buy a new one of those when it comes time to get gaskets, seals, etc.

My pleasure! you do great work and are wonderful to work with!

Something that I have really enjoyed about this project has been the support and camaraderie from like-minded people on here, but also being able to learn from the experts and specialists, and letting my project collect fingerprints from people like you, Mike Rieck, Jim French, Hondaman (soon) etc etc.

oh and cal, I'll be coming for you once I blow the dust off my M-Unit...  ;D

@nils please pass along my condolences to whoever has to unbox my shipment.. I am not good at packing and didnt have many proper supplies.. there is scrap cardboard, bubble wrap, a towel (maybe a tshirt as well?)..

I have never shipped engine parts like this and it shows...

It's Bryan.  I was Brian for about 20 seconds, but then my dad changed it on my birth certificate because he decided it looked like Brain  ???

@nils please pass along my condolences to whoever has to unbox my shipment.. I am not good at packing and didnt have many proper supplies.. there is scrap cardboard, bubble wrap, a towel (maybe a tshirt as well?)..

I have never shipped engine parts like this and it shows...

Hey Bryan - when I sent my motor to Nils, I used a heavy duty plastic container.  Got some rigid (foam) insulation and cut it to fit, pretty simple.   Just a suggestion....

I wholeheartedly agree.  This forum is one of a kind and it's not just the technical expertise.  Most forums have their fair share of experts who know their subject matter and are willing to share it.  And this one certainly has that, but this one is special because of the people.

yep, it is definitely a 'both cheek, full ass situation'.  It is more teleportation than acceleration with this thing.  you just twist the throttle and you find yourself existing farther down the road instantaneously

This morning I started it up (I get it warmed up at least once a month) and the brake lever has almost no resistance. It feels like there is absolutely no fluid in the lines or something (but the reservoir is full)..

Im guessing it just needs to be bled, but with all of the potential things that could go wrong with working on this one myself I'm just going to take it in and have it serviced. The last thing I need it to grab a handful of brake that isn't there...   :o
