Hard Intake Boots ?
« on: February 03, 2016, 09:49:42 am »
Trying to install my upper air box on my 74' CB 750 K4. Air box boots appear to be a little hard making installing air box difficult. Used a Heat Gun a little to soften them up to aid install, but still haven't slid on the carbs. fully.

Probably need to purchase New Boots. I saw on eBay that Kenosha Kid sells a set for $18.00. I'm sure they are aftermarkets. Anyone used these or should I just purchase Honda OEM?

May as well get a set of stainless engine bolts and bronze swing arm bushings from Kenosha while you're at it. I've dealt with him 3 times so far. all excellent results. can't say for sure about his boots though.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Kenosha Kids listing on eBay says his set of air box intake boots are for the K0-K6 CB 750's but list they are equivalent to OEM part # 17253-341-000 ?

Honda's part # is supposed to be 17253-341-300.

Even though they look the same, is his part # the same as Honda's ?

Honda part numbers consist of an item number, a model number, and a revision number.

In this case 17253 is the item, 341 is the model it was first used on, and 000 or 300 is the revision number.
