I need some sort of very simple underseat pouch which I can stick the registration in...I was hoping to find something I can stick to the bottom of my seat with double sided tape. What are you guys using? Can anyone point me to something simple? I did do some google-fu but didn't come up with much except for map pouches..not sure if that's the right approach.

Rode the bike around the "short test loop" today. Boy was that a smile-maker. Still needs tuned properly.

That's actually not a horrible idea. I could always get one of the nice zip-close ones and stick it to the underside...

I just slide mine under the rubber battery strap. AGM battery so no mess to damage the paper.

The good thing about the 78 seat is that it actually has a small document holder space on the bottom of the seat pan.

It's where I keep my insurance & registration for the bike.

Whereever you put it , it needs to be safe from theft but, it has to be accessible if you are stopped by the police at a checkpoint or stop. They sometimes aren't patient as you disassemble the bike to access it. Since no one else rides my motorcycle I put it and insurance id in a baggie beneath my helmet liner inside my helmet in a ziplock baggie and change the baggie every three months to keep it from leaking

So does my '74 750 and '76 550F, I assumed OP had a custom seat.

BTW - the owners manual was in there when the bike was originally sold.

I just picked up a new tool kit pouch. Nice and flat with a snap. Cost me $5 at Honda.

Here at least (Ontario, Canada) keeping a copy of the registration in the vehicle is sufficient. The insurance card must be original.

maybe...but that has no bottom. I would have to find a way to attach it to the bottom of the seat and then who knows how well it would keep the environment out..

I never pack original documents.
I've even renewed and cancelled my policy with colour copies.

Screw it! And keep paperwork in a ziplock baggie with your stash!

In TX, we only need to carry proof of insurance, no need to have registration paperwork as they run your plate and driver's license for that info.

They have that info here in KS, too but you still have to have it with you. Gotta be as big of a pain in your arse as possible.

I used one on Dorothy with the old saddle, it was originally passport pouch from cordura or something similar. I attached it with two sheet metal screws to the bottom of the seat. Worked like a charm, had my mileage and maintenance moleskin in there plus insurance card and registration.

But after swapping seat for CB750; I just used the built in compartment.

Well at least TNhas allowed us to use Electronic proof of insurance. Not sure if a secure usb flash stick the popo as my little sister likes to call them would work. You could have everything you needed on the drive along with scanned images of other things you might want if traveling and stuck somewhere or needed to call a bunch of numbers after loss or theft of wallet. If it was lost the encryption of usb device would protect the info on it...a very determined and patient thief would not have the means to crack the encryption, nsa and some govt probably not as much issue to crack it... maybe apple will make one...

The problem might be if the police officer didn't trust the drive to be usedin his cruiser's computer. I think even his smart phone could access the info. I have a slick little non-encrpted stick that is very small with rubber end capsmade by e I use that has USB mini connector on one end and std USB on the other. It is a stellar xt 16gb made by Patriot and it comes in in much larger capacities and it was inexpensive.

That's actually a pretty neat idea. Encrypted or not it would be cool for someone doing a lot of traveling and especially if they are going through multiple countries.
