Removing pin holding in gas cap
« on: March 03, 2016, 05:14:40 PM »
Hi All,

What's the best way of removing the pin holding in my gas tap on my 1976 CB400F?

The pin appears to be riveted in place.

Thanks

REPLACING that pin was the hardest part of the total overhaul of my 74 CB450! The little spring fights you. Have fun with that!

I drilled a little bit of the rivet flange off and when I pushed it through the edges collapsed. They I reused it and pushed the flanges back out with a BB and c-clamp. Just do not bang to hard when you try to get it out or you will bend the hinge post.
