Number of Links For 630 Chain
« on: November 12, 2006, 11:06:26 PM »
I know I need to drag myself out and count the links myself. But before I do, is there any body on here that knows the number of links on a 77-78K with a 630 chain ?

I have found a world of info on chains. I found a site that sells chains with the part number 630-88. Meaning a 630 chain with 88 links.

I DO NOT want to convert to a 530.

Thanks
Vance

Thanks,

I knew if any one would know about the 77 or 78, you would.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but is the 630 the correct chain for the 77-78?

When I got my bike I ditched the seized '72 motor and custom rear wheel.

I picked up a 78 motor and have detailed it and I found a set of alloy rims off a  '77 CB750A Hondamatic.

To my eye, the sprocket on the motor and the one on my alloy rims look like they have the same tooth spacing.

I haven't purchased a chain but knew I would eventually have to post this question.

Good info about the 88 links.

77/78 had 630 chain stock. A 530 conversion was common after a few years as chain tech caught up.
