Starter solenoid wiring CB750K
« on: April 09, 2016, 08:24:51 pm »
I have a question on the starter solenoid.  From the pic, do I have it right?  I wired it based on what I could figure out from the manual.

Battery hot and wire harness plug to the forward terminal on the solenoid. (Green/red solenoid wire)

Starter cable to the rear side of the terminal.  (Yellow/red solenoid wire)

It is a 1978 CB750K.

Thanks!

I use this diagram when I wire late model Ks:

Per this diagram (and my experience) the battery + wire is attached to the stud terminal to the "rear" of the bike with the harness RED running to the MAIN fuse. The starter motor wire is attached to the other stud terminal running "forward". The Y/R and G/R are attached to smaller soldered connections on the solenoid via bullet connectors. If you could take a clearer picture of the solenoid, (pull the rubber boots out of the way too) it would be more clear.

Thanks, I got it figured out using the non-colored wiring diagram from the manual.  I was using the one you linked, and it didn't quite make sense to me, at the solenoid.  When I dug out the black and white factory schematic, I figured it right out (I was looking for that diagram in electrical, when it is at the front of the manual).

Appreciate the help!
