Newbie with a CB500 K0
« on: April 22, 2016, 09:11:50 AM »
Hey guys. This January I bought a 71 cb500 that the PO had driven drunk on, crashed, and let sit in a garage for 16 years. When I got it, the bike was filthy and smelled like weed. There was no front end since it was ripped off in the crash, but the frame was straight. I bought a cb550f front fork and some other parts to get it rolling, and now ot is road ready.
The engine has 17k original miles and runs like a champ, with a little smoke from dried out valve seals. The chrome is all pretty decent and the 4 to 4 pipes only need a little bit of rust repair.

I'm hoping to repaint it eventually. All the mechanical things work but the tank was pretty dented up in the crash.
