Dyna ds1-2 issues
« on: April 30, 2016, 11:02:26 AM »
Hi everyone

So I am having some issues. My bike would start to backfire during acceleration and would not go above 5000 rims. I figured this was a condenser problem. I had a dyna ds1-2 laying around for my other 750 so I put it in. I static adjusted it and took it out. It ran fine unless I let the rpms drop to 1000 and gave it full throttle.  It would do nothing until I let off and then it would take off. So I got out my inductive timing light and tried to adjust it. Ibcouldnt get is yo stop popping a little while idling and there is a mist of raw gas coming out of the pipes. Also, when I rev it up I can never get it to the Advance marks. It's within a 1/16 of the Advance marks. Then on top of all this trouble my month old battery crapped out. Only had 8 volts in it and now it won't charge so I returned it and got a new one. So my main questions are:

Why the raw gas
Could my dead battery be related or just a bad cell
Why won't it fully Advance
Why the popping at idle

I really appreciate all of your help.
