The Lazertec front (ME33 back in the old days) can go 17,000 miles and wear evenly, assuming the wheel is balanced and pressure is kept around 38 PSI. The Lazertec rear is the old ME55 and will wear out quickly. The ME77 is a 'bargain' tire that isn't very cheap anymore and won't last long either. The best bias ply tire Metzeler made for the rear was the ME88 Marathon, but sadly they quit making them. Those would go 15,000+. I put the last one to be found in Idaho on my 750 last fall. Fred at the best motorcycle shop in the world, Big Twin Cycles in Boise, bought up a bunch when they were being discontinued and let me have the last one, which was very nice of him.
