....beautiful thing. I'll let Brent describe it but he is on the long road home. That 550 (592cc) was awesome....no way I was covering my ears etc......it doesn't sound like any 592cc engine. Rick Stetson agreed and he ain't into holding hands. It rocked! ;D  Damn...you'd men be proud!

Now Mike don't get me in hot water, that engine is a full on honest 572cc (60mm) in case our tech guys are watching  ;D

It was a full day for two bikes and I couldn't be more pleased. I'd like to publicly thank Mike for his attention to detail with both my 550 and now Tyler's FZR400 engines. He has to live with my countless emails and is steadfast in his commitment, thanks man. Rick Stetson was diggin the 400 and told Tyler he enjoyed seeing the finished machine on the dyno after just finishing the head on the Serdi. Tyler's was a (nearly) complete redo but Mike & Megacycle discussed at length the best camshaft choices. Rick's shop had a small part in mine again boring another cylinder for new pistons.

It's worth every bit of the 6 hour drive each way to have Rick work his genius on the dyno. It's not finished until he's happy....Crazy interesting stuff. Both bikes are running top shelf, and that gives me peace starting the season next weekend.

Tyler's Fizzer gained 10-11 HP from the previous engine, mine picked up 2 with less friction, 1 point bump in CR and lighter pistons.

 The pleasure was all mine Brent. i always enjoy seeing some of my handiwork at work. Damn Brent's bike is clean! You'd think it was going in a show. I have seen many road race bikes that look like junk. Some go really well but they just look like crap. nice to see a combo of beautiful and brawny. ;D ;D
 Brent's bike will pick up more HP too as it loosens up......damn it sounded nice at 10,500.
 Cal....i won't be at Rockingham this year but probably next year as my brother is moving to NC in about 3 weeks. He'll be a bout an hour away from the track.

Wow coquette? I've been called so many things, but that may be a first, I think I like it!  ;)

Not holding back. With the latest laptop change, I can never find anything I scan, so the graph is "out there" somewhere. Not important anyway.

Don the Suzuki ignition rev limit is 11,200 and power doesn't dip until that point but is also flat between 10500 and where it cut's out. The dyno shows the ign cut out at 10.8K rpm. 400 rpm difference between my  Krober tach and Rick's computer.

The crank is not lightened, but has been balanced. The feeling is with a middleweight that a little extra rotating mass helps it pull off the corners harder. It revs very quickly however.

light cranks don't work well on road racers , the honda 'kit' cranks for rs 125's and 250's are much heavier than standard and the Motogp bikes
problems are getting blamed on a light crank i believe .
don't make it too pretty brent , you know what is going to happen !

Simon, as long as he doesn't get hurt, the bike is more prepared than before regarding critical spares.  But I'm sure Brent would prefer to keep all the crash spares in the trailer... ;)

Brent, I'm glad your blue bullet and Tyler's 400 are in fine form and ready for battle this season.

Oh Simon, except for new clipons & a fairing (thanks to George) nothing has been prettied, just tidied up. We did polish up the dirty bits over the winter.

Yeah George, I think we're now ready. How is your project(s) coming along?

I can vouch this he's been busy! We both been using our professional paint drying booths! Lol, Bill

Yea, like post curing epoxy paint on matching frames to 170 degrees. ;D.  4 heat lamps and a lot of insulation...

Progress has been disappointing on account of some non bike related challenges stealing away most of my time and energy, but I'm getting there.  I'd really like to have Mike and Rick Stetson handle the dyno runs and tuning on my new JMR motor as well.  That is if I haven't exceeded my limit with Mike yet. ???

I'd MUCH rather drive a 13 hour round trip for the best.

I have considered going to either Bob Carpenter or Eraldo Ferracci, both not far from me.  Both have some serious history with 70s dragbikes and top shelf Dyno equipment, but to be honest I'm guessing both haven't gotten close to a cb750 engine in a while.  Rick and Mike, on the other hand are FAR more "current" with our motors.  And Mike knows every nut and bolt of my new motor, since he built it(with Stetson doing some of the machine work. ;)

It deserves to go back to its creator to test.  Well worth the drive.

I am not ready enough to look into scheduling.  Lots of assembling to do and getting it done well is far more important to me than getting it done fast.  My previous plans are way out the window :-\.   We will have to rely on Billy for our next dyno fix.
