Front and Rear Wheel Bearing Seals
« on: July 17, 2016, 01:20:55 AM »
Hello All,

I've just put some All Balls wheel bearings onto My CB550 K1.

I'm a bit stumped as to where the seals go...

Obviously the Rear wheel only has the one seal in the bearing retainer.

But I have 3 seals for the Front?

The small 1 is for the bearing retainer, which leaves me with 2. 1 of which will be used for the speedo gear.

Out of the 2 seals left they don't quite match up to the original seal in the speedo gear (AE1967 E 8 NOK)

Their sizes are:

35 x 48 x 8 (this would fit best in the speedo gear, but is slightly thicker/taller)
40 x 50 x 5

Do I use all the seals? or do they provide more than required?

Can anyone guide me in the right direction.

The image shows the speedo gear with the old seal below and the 2 new seals I have above.

Cheers, Fraser

AllBalls have kits that fit numerous models of bikes. Your kit may have parts for another application that are not required on your bike. It cheaper that way than having more separate packages and part numbers to catalog.
