Project CB750 '74 full original ? or not ?
« on: September 06, 2016, 10:52:13 AM »
Hi guys,

So, I've presented myself and already asking some question on the bike, all I know :

1974 CB 750 blue,
missing left side cover
not running since 5-10 years
CB750A front end

The objective is to be full original... but if its to much money I'll change my mind.

your opinion ?

What are your plans for the plunger frame?

These bikes sometimes tell you what they should be, if you build the chop from the cb you can sell off the left over parts to someone like me that will put them to good use. Either way the bike deserves a life, I'd rather see you build the chopper than take a saw to the honda frame. But that's just me.
i'm unchopping a (bolt on custom) K2 750 that I've known since the mid 70's, it had extended tubes, pullback bars, a chopper style backrest and drag pipes but it was akward to even roll around in the shop. My vision for mine is a restored bike, yours will be what's in your minds eye. We won't all agree but that's what makes us fun.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Do you think a hardtailed frame that fits a 750 could be used for my 550? I'm hoping to chopperize my once I can find a frame. If so, what are you planning to do with yours?

Are you in OZ?   If yes, parts can be hard to get and expensive.   Prolly not worth a restore back to original.

Why not get it running, sell it and find an original?
