Topic: Carb rack throttle bushing, my mistake your lesson

So as some of you may know the carb rack can be disassembled, a wrong and a right way. It is not very tricky however, I didn't see the right way when I disassembled mine. There is a screwed in set screw that's hidden on one side. You must remove that screw or you will break the bushing much like I did. However I got lucky, after talking to some guys at work, I found or we can make bushings and pretty much anything. We didn't have brass stock in the right sizes however we had aluminum that we've used for bushings before. So we used that.

In the pic you can see the area on the carb rack that must be drilled, and the old broken bushing and the replacement.

True, however trying to remove the flaking  chrome from the arms is harder while assembled.

I didn't find the carbs particularly difficult to disassemble, though I'm working on a '78, which are rather different from the early ones.
