Hobby motorcycling involves wax, polish, and the occasional beer run for nonprofits.
Restorations and rebuilds can be a life changing event , when you finish one ,you 'll want to out-do your last project, make improvements in technique, maybe cross the factory standard alittle and try something a little custom...buy the 4th project you got it down like a production line and restomods give you the freedom to do something different than the first 2 and a bit more than the third. You realize that so many things that aren't stock can be fun to do, different variations of the same theme . Allot can be done to change each machine from the next and as long as the frame isn't cut you can always bring it back to factory, if you wanted to.
Who knows, by 10 or 12 you may want to try a cafe and cut a frame or 2. Whatever you decide to do , how many you decide to do is all up to you but , no matter what , you must have fun doing it, you must love walking into your shop every time you walk through the door....even on the hardest day, when you ask yourself " why i got into this in the first place", and then you find a grin coming on, and it just isn't that bad anymore.... that's when you know why. Enjoy the work, love each project, and most of all, have fun.
